One day when I was baking cupcakes, I filled both tins with the paper liners but didn’t have enough batter to fill all the cups. Then I forgot to take the paper liners out before putting the tin into the oven. The resulting paper cups were all toasty-browned and slightly oil-spotted in the bottoms. I liked them so much I kept them. They’ve been sitting on my desk for a while, on top of this photo print that I’ve been meaning to hang. I liked the way it all looked, so I snapped some photos. :)
In other news, I love Metric.
I’ve been growing increasingly fond of kawaii art lately, because kawaii not?!
In case you were wondering, your argument is invalid.

I left off on a pretty ominous note. Sorry about that. So much has been happening lately, I don’t seem to have much time or energy for blogging.

Let me give you an update on my best friend, Megan (with the brain tumor).
She went through a 12-hour surgery, during which at least 6 hours she was awake and had to respond to questions. They did this because the tumor was very intertwined with her blood vessels and they had to make sure that they did not remove any pieces that were necessary for her brain functionality. Pretty heavy! Her doctor was amazing, though. The folks at MD Anderson told her that if it had been any other doctor, they would have told her the tumor was inoperable. This doctor was skilled enough to remove over 90% of the tumor, and she is making a quick and amazing recovery. At the end of the month she will start a regimen of radiation to kill off the rest of the tumor.
Half of her head is shaved and she has a scar from her forehead, around the side of her head, and down in front of her ear. It looks incredibly healed already. She also looks amazingly hot with a half-shaved head (and the other half is down to the middle of her back – and golden brown). She is beautiful and brave and inspiring. I love her so much. She’s my hero.
If you want to learn more about her, and read everything that’s been happening, her dad has been keeping a blog to keep us all up-to-date with what is going on. Their family and friends are pretty religious so there’s a lot of praising God on that blog. ;)

Can “cliché” be, in fact, a cliché?
I’m serious. I need answers. I need more people to agree with me. :P
